Asian Art Conservator Talk

Join fellow AAAYA communities members to learn about conserving arts and arifacts on paper at this special event in San Francisco! 

This is a great event to learn and consider how to conserve any precious Asian arts and artifacts you may have for future generations.

2:00-2:30pm - Post-talk QnA / Refreshments

Special guest and host Karen Zukor of Zukor Art Conservation specializes in the repair and preservation of art and artifacts on paper - prints, drawings, watercolors, pastels, documents, maps, manuscripts, and rare books. Her field of expertise covers a broad spectrum, from small repairs to the treatment of severely damaged and deteriorated objects. Zukor Art also provides guidelines on archival framing, storage, and shipping, as well as preventive maintenance.

In this private and intimate event, Karen will provide an overview of conserving and caring for art and artifacts on paper while guests view and interact with precious authentic paper artifacts. 

• This event will be held in a private residence in Pacific Heights.

• Light refreshments will be served. 

About Karen Zukor: 

Karen Zukor has been a professional paper conservator for over thirty-five years and is a Fellow of the American Institute for Conservation. She has been responsible for many collections - including fine art, archival material, maps, documents, and rare books - held both in private hands and at institutions. In addition, she has trained both pre- and post-program interns for over twenty years, and lectures widely to the general public. She received her B.A. in Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MA in Art History and Chinese Art and Classic Chinese Literature from Tufts University.
