About the Event
Cambodian New Year (or Khmer New Year; Khmer: បុណ្យចូលឆ្នាំខ្មែរ [ɓon coːl cʰnam kʰmae]) is the traditional celebration of the solar new year in Cambodia. Watch traditional Cambodian dances, sample street food from different vendors and purchase unique gifts. While the festival is free to attend, bring cash for your purchases at this popular local annual festival in Silver Spring. Limited parking. Carpool or uber recommended.
Since the festival tends to draw large crowds, we will plan to hold a space with a picnic blanket next to the performance stage. Look for the AAAYA banner! Stop by to chat with fellow alumni.
