About the Event
Become a Site Coordinator
We are seeking site coordinators to help out with liaising with nonprofit partner organizations, and serving as on-site coordinators day of for groups of Yale volunteers. The Yale Club will help get the sites set up in advance and then hand them off to site coordinators to communicate with the nonprofit and Yale volunteers in the lead-up to and day of the event. Organize a Yale Day of Service Project
Have a service project or organization in mind that you’d like to set up and coordinate start to finish (including day of)? It’s simple: Just reach out to Maria Vera Whelan (mariavera27@gmail.com), then submit your project here: https://alumni.yale.edu/submit-event. Make sure you include “Yale Day of Service” in the event title, Yale Club of Washington, D.C. under “Organization,” input yaledayofservice.org for the URL, and select “Service” for the event category. Projects can take place on May 13, or anytime this spring. Tips for organizing a project can be found here.
Volunteer for an Existing Service Project
Sites are starting to get confirmed and we’re seeking volunteers for each! Here’s the line-up so far:
- Install smoke alarms and promote home safety in D.C. with the American Red Cross - April 15, 8:30 am - 2 pm. SIGN UP HERE
- Cunningham Falls State Park Clean-up - April 21, 9 am - 12 pm. SIGN UP HERE
- Organize donations at A Wider Circle - May 13, 10 am - 12 pm. SIGN UP HERE
