About the Event
This event is the 62nd in a series of events covering different professions and career issues. There have been 51 Yale Career Panels, 9 Yale Career Fireside Chats and 1 Yale Career Conversations events. Organized 13 years ago by a group of Yale alumni volunteers, these panels strive to provide candid, unvarnished views of featured professions.
Alternative Investing has been a mainstay in the field of investing but has been particularly popular as an investment category by institutions, pension funds and the investing public for its returns and as a way to diversify investment portfolios.
This panel will focus on three of the major categories of Alternative Investing: Private equity, hedge funds and family offices. We have panelists whose careers are in these three fields now and during the course of their work history. They will provide a candid view of what is happening, good and bad, in these fields, the myths that need to be highlighted, and what type of person can succeed and be happy.
The panel discussion will be broadcast via an interactive streaming video platform that will allow Yale students and alumni to ask questions of the panel and interact with each other.
