AAAYA NorCal: Snow Falling on Cedars by TheatreWorks at Mountain View Center for the Peforming Arts – Mountain View – Sa 4/9 – 8 pm

Please join us for a moving exploration of love, justice, war, and prejudice at TheatreWorks’ performance of “Snow Falling on Cedars.”  Based on the best-selling novel by David Guterson, which won the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, this murder mystery is set against the backdrop of World War II.  A Japanese American war veteran returns home to a small island off the state of Washington and is accused of murdering a childhood friend in a dispute over land lost by his family during the Japanese internment.

The performance will be followed by a special panel discussion organized by Dr. Carol Mimura ’79 BK for AAAYA members and their guests only about the 442nd Regimental Combat Unit and the Japanese internment experience.  If you or your family would like to share your experiences and join us as a panelist, please let us know in the RSVP.
