2024 AAAYA New York Community Service Summer Intern - Tina Huang (YC '26)

Tina Huang (YC' 26)

The New York City Chapter of AAAYA is excited to announce that this year's Yale Alumni Community Service Summer Internship has gone towards supporting Tina Huang (Yale College Class 2026) in her summer internship with Immigrant Social Services in New York City.

Tina is a student at Yale University pursuing a BA in English. On campus, she is a graphic designer for the Yale Student Film Festival and serves as a cultural liaison to the Asian American Students Alliance. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and visiting new restaurants.

Immigrant Social Services (ISS) was founded in 1972 to improve the conditions of immigrants and other under-resourced persons living in Manhattan’s Lower East Side/Chinatown. Since that time, ISS has diligently and proudly served multiple generations of immigrants in the neighborhood. Over the years this has taken the form of various activities and services, including English language instruction; assistance with housing, employment, and immigration; afterschool/summer programs for children and youth; substance abuse and violence prevention programs; youth employment; cultural, sports, and recreational programs.

We are excited to support Tina's meaningful work with Immigrant Social Services and look forward to receiving her end of summer report. For more information on the internship please visit: https://www.aaaya.org/yalesummerfellowship.
