Life After Yale: NYC – Careers, Culture and Community, October 16, 2010
The 2010 AAAYA Sophomore “Life After Yale-NYC” event will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2010. 10 sophomores will come to NYC to meet and learn about organizations which serve the Asian community and network with alumni.
The networking dinner with alumni will take place from 5-7 p.m. at Dhaba (108 Lexington Avenue NY, NY 10016). The dinner encourages sophomores to explore various career paths by meeting and networking with alumni.
We are looking for alumni with diverse career paths to advise students and sponsor one student for dinner. The approximate cost would be $57 for two meals (1 alumni, 1 student), which includes tax and tip.
If you are interested in participating, please contact pamela.shen@aya.yale.edu.
In the afternoon, Seema Agnani, founder and Executive Director of Chhaya CDC, will speak to the students about housing and community development issues facing South Asians in NYC. Please see their website http://www.chhayacdc.org/ for more information on this community-based organization.
